Printmaking Course and Supplies

The printmaking and drawing session participants will explore several areas of printmaking. The first part of the week will consist of excursions to various places on the island to gather ideas and to try and capture the island through sketching. Participants will study elements of drawing including light and shadow, line quality and composition and apply them to their work. Mid-week, students will take their sketches to the studio to transfer ideas into monotypes, dry-point etchings and collage printing. All levels of ability are welcome and students are encouraged to apply and develop their own individual style. Participants can expect to produce a wide variety of prints during the week, which can be further embellished with oil pastels or watercolor afterwards. Printmaking is an exciting process with endless possibilities.
